For the Birds

For years, you've peered at your birder's paradise through the kitchen window, but now that the birds are comfortable with you, you'd like a little more proximity. What do you do?

Try this. Build a two-tiered deck that wraps around the back of the house. Use a horizontal cable railing to avoid obstructing the view. Use composite decking, because it's low maintenance and matches the house.

Add bird friezes and wood-burned panels to punctuate the deck's intended purpose, and leave the rest for the birds!
